what should I wear to a smart/casual dinner?
My friend is having an evening dinner for her birthday, it starts at 8pm (if that makes a difference to what I would wear..) and I was thinking I'd wear jeans and some colored ballet pumps..but my question really is which sort of top should I wear? and any ideas on jewellery, make-up and hair?
I usually just wear jeans, converse and hoodies..but I don't want to look like a total hobo.
I think you should wear some nice jeans with some nice flats or wedges. And for a top you could probably go with a blouse or maybe a plain shirt with a vest. As for jewelry you should probably keep it simple by just wearing a nice pearl necklace or some small plain hoop earrings. And for your hair, if you have straight hair you should keep it down, that's what I always do, and if you have curly you could probably straighten it and keep it down or just keep it curly and down. For make-up you should keep it simple probably a little bit of black eyeliner and some lip gloss.
